A PUB had to turn away 80 customers and bin cooked food today after its water supply was cut off.

The Toby Carvery in Bath Road, Worcester, was closed between 8am and 3pm but was able to re-open after Severn Trent Water provided a temporary water supply.

Ollie Lewis, team leader at the pub, said: “We had to disappoint a lot of people, turning customers away for breakfast and lunch.

“Unfortunately food has gone to waste and we have faced quite a cut in our profits for the day.”

He added that the cause of disruption was unknown and that Severn Trent Water were still on site at 6.15pm investigating the problem.

“Severn Trent Water have been very helpful and it is just one of those things really”, said Mr Lewis.

The pub is located within close proximity of the major works being carried out at the Ketch roundabout.
