EVESHAM people are being asked to have their say on how the town council should dish out grants worth £205,000.

The consultation will determine how the New Homes Bonus money, totalling £475,948 over six years is spent.

The money comes from a share received by Wychavon District Council from the government, which is based on how many houses were built in the area and occupied within a certain time scale.

So far £55,000 has been used for a community grants project, which allocated funding to local clubs, societies and charities, £16,000 was allocated to the enhancement of the war memorial,£24,000 went to a project at Wallace House to replace the front windows, which is still on-going, and £50,000 was given to the first phase of Evesham Bell Tower Appeal.

Evesham Town Council is now proposing to allocate a further £205,000 of its New Homes Bonus money.

It intends to allocate £150,000 to the Great Big Almonry Project, to restore the museum and its exhibits.

A further £5,000 could go to the No Limits Crown Meadow Play Area project, a campaign started by local resident Lucy Bickerstaff to get play equipment suitable for children with disabilities installed at the Crown Meadow play area in Evesham.

Finally another £50,000 would go to the Bell Tower Appeal, a campaign well supported in the town to repair and conserve the 16th century building.
