ELDERLY Kinver folk can look forward to an early Christmas present when the Old People's Welfare vouchers are distributed next Friday (December 5).

The vouchers will be given out at Kinver Senior Citizens Rooms in Legion Drive between 9.30am and 1.30pm.

Vouchers are available to ladies of 60 years and over and men who are 65 and over, all of whom must live within Kinver parish.

Proof of address will also be required and proof that a portion of council tax is paid to Kinver Parish Council.

The vouchers are made available each year thanks to generous donations, including £5,000 from the Ken Wrigley Memorial Charity.

Other donations are provided by the Bingo Club, which meets at the Constitutional Club every Monday, and Kinver Darts Group.

Around 900 to 1,000 vouchers are printed each year, while gifts are taken to nursing homes in Kinver to residents who originally resided within the parish.

More information about the scheme is available from Margaret Rogers on 01384 872073.
