POLICE are appealing for information and urging the public to be vigilant after distraction thefts at cash points in Redditch this afternoon.
The incidents happened between 11am and 12.15pm at the Halifax and HSBC cash machines in the town centre on Wednesday, November 26.
In both instances, the victims were at the ATM machines withdrawing money when two men approached and distracted them.
This was whilst a third man attempted to withdraw large amounts of cash from the victims’ accounts.
Around £200 was taken from the one victim’s account but the offenders were unsuccessful with the other.
The public are reminded to be vigilant when withdrawing money from cash machines and to report any suspicious incidents to police.
Police are also urging anyone who witnessed these incidents or who saw three men acting suspiciously in the area to contact them on 101, quoting incidents 224S and 221S of Wednesday, November 26.
