BROMSGROVE MP and Culture Secretary Sajid Javid was the guest speaker at a successful charity networking event.

Primrose Hospice's Business Networking Lunch event was held at The Abbey Hotel Golf and Country Club, in Hither Green Lane.

The event was well attended, and included a two course lunch.

The money raised at the event was donated to the hospice in St Godwald's Road, which supports people facing an end of life situation.

Bromsgrove MP talked about the Government's work on the economy, welfare and education, answered questions from the floor, and discussed how small and medium businesses can aid the financial recovery.

Mr Javid said: "Due to my personal experience of how important hospice care is, I urge you to support your local hospice.

"Primrose Hospice is an independent charity and relies on the generosity of the public to help raise £1.6million every year to provide their services to patients and their families free of charge, with only 20 per cent of this funding being provided by the NHS."
