STOURBRIDGE folk are being urged to have their say on the future of Mary Stevens Park by taking part in a survey.

Dudley Council bosses are keen to find out what people would like to see in the Norton park as they prepare to make major improvements.

The park, off Norton Road, was handed a huge grant of £2.6million from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Big Lottery Fund last year.

As a result, work will start on restoring the listed gates, railings, bandstand and pool.

There will also be improvements to the war memorial and plans are afoot to create a cafe in the tea gardens.

It is hoped the survey will help establish how people use the park and what activities they would like to see made available in it.

The survey can be completed by anyone who has ever visited Mary Stevens Park.

Cllr Hilary Bills, Dudley's cabinet member for environment and culture, is calling on people to take part in the survey and said: "The survey will help us establish how we can make the park even better for current and future generations."

The council is working with the Friends of Mary Stevens Park and other organisations on the project - the total cost of which is £3.1m Anyone who wants to take part in the survey should go to www.cfpuk.co.uk/msp
