A DISUSED toilet block on Evesham's Crown Meadow has been demolished and removed.
The work had been put on hold to ensure Evesham wasn’t disrupted when the Tour of Britain came through the town last week.
But it was full steam ahead this week by Wychavon District Council, following the successful event and the block was brought to the ground.
Rubble removed from the area was reused on other Wychavon projects to minimise the number of lorry movements and the area will now be levelled and seeded to provide a grassy area.
The play area is also back in action after its removal during Worcestershire County Council’s works to Abbey Bridge.
While fencing remains around the area to protect the regrowth of the grass the play area is still fully accessible.
Councillor Ron Davis, board member for contracted services, environment and health, said: "I’m very pleased that this work has now happened and to see Crown Meadow looking better. This is great news for the town and visitors to the meadow and riverside."
