On Whit Sunday, the new organ, built by Messrs Nicholson and Co, of Palace Yard, Worcester, for All Saints' Church, the Wyche, was dedicated by the Rev E H Holden MA, and used for the first time at the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

Mrs Alice Cobb, Dunbridge, Ledbury, was one of the successful butter-making competitors in classes 1 and 2 at the Hereford and Worcester Show held at Leominster this week, taking a third prize in each class.

The right of the Pyx Granite Co Ltd, Malvern, to continue working certain of their quarrries in the Malvern Hills was discussed in an appeal before the House of Lords on Monday. The company's case is that the proposed work was authorised by the 1924 Malvern Hills Act, and that the Minister of Housing has no power to impose conditions.

A new BMX club is being formed in Malvern and organisers say they have managed to secure their own private site on which to build a national standard track.

A plan to build 130 houses on land at Foley Road, Newent, has been approved by the Department of the Environment. The decision follows a public inquiry held in October. Also approved is a scheme for two small light industrial areas.
