On Saturday Miss Isabella May Pullen, 4 Graham Terrace, Sherrard's Green, sustained fatal injuries while cycling, through colliding with a motor car, driven by Dr Harold Ettrick Moore, of Stourport, at the corner of Pickersleigh Road, about a hundred yards from Malvern Electricity Works. In trying to avoid her, Dr Moore ran his car up into the hedge, with the result that it turned over, and he was pinned underneath, having a remarkable escape from death. The inquest jury, in returning a verdict of accidental death, said they were satisfied that no blame attached to Dr Moore.

Better than most meteorologists and more accurate that most long-range weather forecasts is the Ascension Day service on top of the 124ft. Priory Church Tower. Not once in living memory has rain fallen in Malvern on the 40th day after Easter to hinder or cancel the 9 o'clock service. Thursday was no exception - it dawned bright and clear and the service, as so often in the past, opened to the thunder of the nine-o-clock chimes. This year, among the 40 or so who climbed the 172 steps were Canon R B Lunt, Vicar of Malvern and Rural Dean, the Rev Bernard Hancock.

Malvern Town's cup final clash was marred by violence when Tamworth supporters fought on the terraces last weekend. Three women police constables were injured in incidents before and after the game played at Tividale, near Dudley. Police were showered with coins and beer cans when fans arrived half an hour late for the game. The WPCs were injured when they got caught up in a fracas in the main Tamworth stand. Four people have been charged with public order and assault offences. Police stress that Malvern fans were not involved.
