Frank Willoughby Cotton, Ledbury, was summoned for failing to produce his motor licence at Malvern Wells on March 14th. PC Bennett said he stopped defendant near the British Camp Hotel, where he was one of a number of motor cyclists who were causing an obstruction by testing their machines on a public path leading to the Herefordshire Beacon. He asked defendant for his license and he said he had not got it with him, as it was not usual for a motor cyclist to carry one. Defendant was ordered to pay the costs, 6s 6d.

Hundreds of enraged Powick residents turned out this week to protest as a suggestion than farm land in their parish should be turned into a residential area. Parish, county and district councillors turned up to answer questions from amongst the 300 people who crowded into the village hall. Residents were outraged to hear that they would be unable to object to the proposal. Although in favour of the redevelopment of the Powick Hospital site, they were unanimous in their opposition to building on the Court Farm site.
