Bosbury

AFTER months of planning the third Cider and Blossom Festival opens at 11am on Saturday. There are attractions for all the family, in addition to the cider tasting and blossom walks. Chairman, Patrick Whitehead and his hard working committee look forward to your support, the proceeds of the festival will be shared by the village school, the church and the parish hall.

The 9.30am Parish Communion on Sunday, May 11 will be led by the Reverend Sue Strutt, who we welcome back from her three month study leave.

On Saturday, May 17 Bosbury WI hold their annual May Fayre at the parish hall 2-5pm. Plant sale (including bedding), cake stall, bric-a-brac, cream teas and handicraft demonstrations.

Following the Lyra Russian Ensemble's memorable concert last Thursday, the next Music at Bosbury concert is on Saturday, May 31 at 7.30pm. Those of you who know Colin Miles as a pianist and organist may not have realised that his talents extend to singing as well! This concert will entertain and amaze you as Colin and Friends present a programme of Kings Singers style music.They are complemented by the wind group West Woodwind all the way from Somerset. A Spring Miscellany with the Seven Deadly Sins and West Woodwind is in aid of church funds. Tickets available on the door, adult £6, accompanied children £3, family £15 including a glass of wine or juice, plus nibbles.

Iolanthe from Scratch. Linda Sinker and friends are planning a one-off production of this well known Gilbert and Sullivan opera in aid of parish hall funds. singers are asked for a £10 donation to the funds. Audience £5 on the door. You will be equally welcome in the chorus line or as a solo singer, for more information and application form ring Linda on 01531 640420. Saturday, July 12 performance 7pm, assemble at the parish hall at 1.30pm, tea will be provided for a 5.30pm break. Conductor John Sabey, accompanists Philip Holland and Sue Oliver.
