THE Whist Drive held on Saturday, April 19 raised £153 towards Claudia's Closet. This is a charity set up by five enterprising sixth formers at Dean Close School (in memory of their school friend) to raise money for a recreation room refurbishment in Gloucester Children's Hospital and then the equivalent in Bristol. Well done.
Circle Dancing with Olivia and Richard is on Friday, May 2nd at 8pm at the Memorial Hall. All are Welcome.
Saturday, May 3 is our village fair in the Memorial Hall. Any donations of books, toys, cakes and DVD'S will be gratefully received. Please leave your donations in the Hall between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Friday evening or contact Anne Abbotts on 632439 or e-mail whmhall@hotmail.co.uk for collection. Sorry no bric-a-brac this year. Stalls are still available at £5 per table for craft items, clubs and charities. Please do come along and support us.
On Tuesday, May 6 the Memorial Hall Committee meeting is being held at 8pm.
The annual Parish Meeting is on Thursday, May 8 at 7.30pm at the Memorial Hall. This meeting is open to all residents in Wellington Heath. Light refreshments will be served. You could also win a £50 meal voucher to spend at the Farmers Arms, which was kindly donated by James Miller. Please try and attend.
James, at the Farmers Arms is having a Spanish Night on Friday, May 9 from 7pm onwards. Classic Spanish dishes will be on the menu.
The Christian Aid house-to-house collection will take place May 11-17. Because of other things going on, we are desperately short of collectors. Wellington Heath has an excellent record of rising annual totals.
