Scouts assemble for St George
HUNDREDS of Scouts, Cubs and Beavers lined the streets of Upton on Sunday (April 20) as troops from across the district joined together for the annual St George's Day parade.
The scouts gathered outside the Old Fire Station at 2.30pm and marched through the town, led by the Boys Brigade band, to the parish church, where Rev Jeff Radcliffe led a service of dedication and the youngsters renewed their Scout Promise.
It was a particularly proud day for Upton's Cub pack, which was taking part in the celebrations for the first time since successfully reforming in September 2007.
