Nursing home's conservatory bid refused
A BID to build a large conservatory at The Boynes nursing home near Upton has been refused.
Members of Malvern Hills District Council's southern area planning committee rejected the application due to concerns over the design, size and siting of the conservatory, and a perceived detrimental effect on the architecturally interesting character of the building.
Planning office Rosalyn Kirby said: "The proposals just are not right for a building of this scale. It needs to be a purpose built design not something out of a manufacturer's brochure."
Cllr Mike Morgan had moved approval, stating that no-one in the local area had expressed any objections to the plans. However members voted against his proposal, and subsequently in favour of refusal.
