Upton
Tourism group looks for support
THE Upton Tourism and Trade Association is on the look out for new volunteers and financial support.
The group, which is responsible for the town's annual Water Festival, has been left short of funds for the event after the cancellation of several fundraising events over the past year in the aftermath of the 2007 summer floods.
In a report for Upton's annual town meeting, held on Tuesday (April 15), chairman Peter Webb said: "We are actively looking for sponsors or benefactors to enable the 18th annual Water Festival to be mounted to the same standard as the town has come to expect."
He added that volunteers were needed to help organise and staff the event, which takes place over August Bank Holiday weekend.
