EURO MP and former Malvern College rugby captain Philip Bushill-Matthews welcomed England Rugby director Rob Andrew and a team of RFU officials to the European Parliament in Brussels last week.
The 2007 Rugby World Cup kicks off in France on Saturday, and Mr Bushill-Matthews wished the team better luck than he endured during his time at the private Malvern school.
"In my year we had just three fixtures - and lost the lot," he said. "I trust the England team will have greater success in the coming weeks."
