A professional photographer who took 112 pictures of a bare-breasted 15-year-old girl has been cleared of two sex crimes.

Timothy Phillips told police he genuinely believed the teenager was 16 because he had seen her age on a modelling website.

He took the shots in a hotel bedroom, where the girl had agreed to pose nude but then changed her mind and only removed her top, the jury heard.

Prosecutor Abigail Nixon offered no further evidence at the trial of Phillips after the girl, now 18, was questioned for three hours in the witness box at Worcester Crown Court.

Miss Nixon said the case rested on the girl's testimony and it was "quite clear she had not told the truth".

Phillips, formerly of Worcester Road, Malvern, was given not guilty verdicts on charges of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and meeting a child after sexual grooming.

But he still faces sentencing for making indecent photographs of a child.

Miss Nixon told the jury it is illegal to take indecent photographs of a child under the age of 18.

Judge Andrew Geddes granted 37-year-old Phillips bail while a pre-sentence report is prepared. He has no previous convictions.
