VANDALS have left Malvern residents seething after leaving a trail of graffiti on their cars.

Three cars on Shirley Close, off Pickersleigh Road, one on neighbouring Harbinger Avenue, and one on Pickersleigh Road itself, were sprayed with the initials NWO, LFC and LUFC, between 8pm on Monday and 9am on Tuesday.

It is believed the black paint used is water based, but could still damage paintwork.

Shirley Close pensioner Victor Townsend, who woke to find his car had been sprayed, said: "I don't know what to say, it's very bad news.

"It's usually quiet around here."

Neighbour Michelle Tooze, who's car was also sprayed, said: "I live on my own, like a lot of people in this close, and my car is my lifeline.

"I'm very angry and annoyed about it, how would these people react if I went and sprayed their property?"

Michelle, who has lived on the close for ten years, said problems with young people cutting through to go to the fields between Sling Lane and Pickersleigh Road, had worsened in recent years.

"There aren't vast problems here, but kids do make a nuisance of themselves sometimes.

"I'd like to see more of a police presence in the area," she said.

Fellow Shirley Close residents Malcolm Jones and Jean Fish, whose cars were not affected, said the street was normally quiet, but residents have had some trouble with rowdy groups of youths, which they have reported to police.

anyone with information about the incidents, or who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time, is urged to call police on 08457 444888, quoting reference 228S/191206 or 267S/191206.
