I AM both delighted that Lynne and Pete Browne finally got permission for their parasol and in total agreement with their view that the future of Great Malvern is very much at a critical crossroads.
The current Tory administration at MHDC is but 12 months old but on the basis of their record so far, the parasol saga, axing the hanging baskets in the priory park, and the savage cuts in arts provision to name but a few I fear that there is no one amongst them with the drive ambition and vision to move Great Malvern in the direction it so desperately needs to go.
To conclude I look back to the last person to have succeeded in making massive strides to revitalise the town and put the great back in Malvern. My good friend and former colleague the late and much missed John Ford must be turning in his grave.
