A MALVERN school is offering students the chance to get on medicine and dentistry courses at universities in the Czech Republic.

The Abbey College in Malvern Wells, says it is the only place in the UK where students can sit the entrance exam for Charles University First faculty of medicine, the oldest medical university in Europe, and Masaryk University Jodie Varney, the short course registrar at the college, said: "We have almost 60 students taking the exam this weekend in the hope to become doctors or dentists. Most of these students have recently got their A levels and despite being top students and all having excellent grades, they have been unable to secure a place at a UK university.

"This option is becoming increasingly popular."
