GREAT Malvern Primary School has launched a Family Learning course designed to help parents and carers make a significant improvement in their children’s numeracy skills.
Aided by a tutor from Evesham and Malvern Hills College, the course teaches parents valuable additional skills helping them to improve their child’s learning.
The current course has been running for some weeks and is already showing some major results, says Evelyn Cummingham of the school.
"Parents are gaining some wonderful insights into how to bring numeracy skills into their day-to-day life which in turn helps their child to have fun while learning," she said. "It also gives the parents and their children some very valuable time together and can make a major difference to the child’s learning in other subjects."
Now the school is planning a new course along similar lines, on literacy for pupils aged three to five.
