THE owners of The Cottage in the Wood, Malvern Wells, this week celebrated 20 years at the hotel.

On Tuesday, John and Sue Pattin were joined by staff and customers, past and present, suppliers and the local community to celebrate the special anniversary.

Mr and Mrs Pattin said they were delighted with the turn-out and touched that so many people wanted to mark the anniversary with them.

Mr Pattin said: "We feel it's an achievement to have notched up 20 years at The Cottage in the Wood. It was wonderful to see so many people and to share the anniversary with them."

The hotel has truly become a family business as John and Sue have been joined by three other family members. Son Dominic Pattin is head chef, daughter Maria Taylor is operations director and son-in-law Nick Webb is general manager.

Mrs Taylor said: "The anniversary open day was a great chance to say thank-you to all our loyal customers who have supported us over the years and through the improvements we have made. Here's to another 20 years!"

The Cottage in the Wood has also won awards for its food, wine and accommodation, and was named the hotel with the best view in England by the Daily Mail.
