A HOSPICE is inviting guests to join them on the fairway in the shadow of the Malvern Hills for a fundraising day of golf.

The St Richard’s Hospice Golf Day, held at the Worcestershire Golf Club, Malvern Wells, will take place on Friday, April 27.

Now in its third year, the event will see teams play 18 holes of golf before enjoying a two-course dinner.

Ria Simons, fundraiser at Worcester-based St Richard’s, said: “We’re delighted to be holding our golf day once again in the beautiful surroundings of the Worcestershire.

“Last year’s event raised more than £4,000 in support of the free, specialist care provided to patients and their loved ones here at St Richard’s.

“The event is always a great day out, with plenty of healthy competition, as we will be awarding prizes for the first three teams, nearest the pin and longest drive. We hope to see you there.”

John Hyde of event sponsors Santander said: “We are very pleased to be supporting St Richard’s by sponsoring this event again this year. They do tremendous work and we are well aware that their need to raise funds is never ending.

“We encourage local businesses to come out in support by entering a team on the day”

To start the day, bacon rolls, teas and coffees will be served – while the day will finish with a silent auction and raffle.

Booking fee for a team of four is £300. To book a team, contact Isobel Mathews on 01905 763963 or imathews@strichards.org.uk. To find out more about the event visit strichards.org.uk/event/golf-day.
