AN appeal has been launched to raise £800 to help a dog get over his medical issues and find a new family.
Worcestershire Animal Rescue Shelter dog Spud, was found as a stray and a few days after arriving, whilst stretching his legs, he collapsed on his back legs.
He was unable to bear his weight on either of them and was dragging them behind, clearly in discomfort.
He was taken by the dog warden to the vets, who thought it may be his cruciate ligament, but upon further inspection it is thought this is not the case.
Claire Tregunna, manager of the shelter at Newland, near Malvern, said: "He was a popular boy at the vets and soon recovered enough to come back to us. He has had one re-occurrence since so he is limited to on-lead walks only, which he does seem happy enough with.
"He needs a CT scan. This comes at a cost of £800, which is a lot of money for a small charity like us.
"So we are reaching out to our supporters, hoping you can dig deep in to those pockets and help us raise the money needed to get this scan done, ultimately helping Spud to get to his new family soon."
