ROBBERS have been left with 'unusable' mobile phones after ripping 11 devices from a display cabinet and threatening staff during a phone shop break-in.

Two men raided Carphone Warehouse in Roman Way Retail Park, Malvern, and ran off with the stolen goods at around 6.20pm on Monday.

A Carphone Warehouse spokesman said that lost and stolen phones are blocked and blacklisted, which renders them unusable.

The spokesman added: “The safety and wellbeing of all our staff and customers is our utmost priority.

"The investigation into this incident is ongoing and anyone with any further information should contact the local police."

Sergeant Paul Buffery of West Mercia Police said: "The retail park, and surrounding areas, would have been busy with shoppers on Monday evening (August 14).

“We don’t tolerate crimes of this nature and a thorough investigation is on-going to locate the offenders and bring them to justice.

"We are appealing for anyone who saw the offenders at the retail park, or the way they fled the area."

One of the criminals was described as a black male about 26-years-old, 6ft 3 tall, skinny build, with black braided hair and wearing a green Stoneface jacket.

The other was a white male, about 25, 5ft 10 tall, of stocky build, with full facial stubble and wearing a grey hoodie, dark tracksuit bottoms and black shoes.

No arrests have been made in relation to the incident.
