THE hats are coming off when the Castlemorton Cinema Club shows the Full Monty at its upcoming film festival.

The club has organised the event to marks its fifth birthday, and since it was formed, it has screened 50 films at the village hall.

The venue is being renamed the Morton Majestic Cinema for the festival which will feature four classic British films from the last 50 years.

The festival will get off to a red carpet start on Friday, September 8, with canapes and bubbly before a showing of the 1963 classic Billy Liar.

The other films showing over the weekend are The Full Monty, Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were Rabbit and A United Kingdom.

There will also be free events, including amateur and local film footage, a talk by John Bennett on setting up and running a neighbourhood cinema, a brass band playing film music and an illustrated talk on the Art of Amateur Film Making by the chairman of the IAC Film and Video Institute.

The festival runs from Friday to Sunday, September 8 to 10, and for more information and tickets, call 01684 833297 or 833549 or visit castlemortoncinema.co.uk.

All profits go to St Richard's Hospice.
