THIEVES have stolen two large 'staddle stone' caps from the garden of a home near Malvern.

Staddle stones, originally used to support granaries, are a distinctive mushroom-like shape.

The two caps, which each measure two feet across, were stolen from the front garden of a home on Castlemorton Common, near Malvern, between 10pm on Friday, July 14 and early the next morning.

The Cotswold stone caps are described as being of 'great sentimental value' to their owner.
