TWO dogs rescued from Romania are looking for new homes.

Una and Fifi are residing with Sarah Coleman, 32 who lives in Malvern after they were rescued from a Romanian kill shelter.

The dogs are rescued by charity Save The Brestea Dogs before being given to foster carers like Miss Coleman who then find them permanent owners.

Miss Coleman said: "Both girls have been spayed, flead, wormed and microchipped. "Home checks and adoption fees are required.

"Una has had a very rough start to life.

"She is only a year old and was pulled out of a kill shelter in Romania where she had become sick with distemper due to the filthy conditions she was living in.

"After a long battle, Una survived the virus and now is immune to getting this again.

"Unfortunately the virus has left her with a constant twitch in her left eye but this doesn’t bother her and she’s now a happy and playful young dog.

"Una is now looking for a home of her own with a family to love her.

"She ideally will be looking for quiet home with another resident dog that she can play with.

"Fifi was hit by a car 7 years ago and was sadly left without the proper treatment.

"She is left with a limp on her front leg and lost the sight in one eye.

"Despite this she is a very friendly dog and very bouncy.

"She is great with humans and good with other dogs and cats.

"Fifi could happily live as the only dog but would benefit from having a family around her."

The dogs were being starved in kill shelters, which slaughter dogs that have not found homes within two weeks.

The Romanian government passed legislation in 2013 to reduce the number of stray dogs.

Save The Breastea Dogs aim to save as many of these dogs as possible through donations.

They can be saved by paying the management at kill shelters 60 euros every month to stop them being slaughtered.

Home checks and adoption fees apply.
