THE tennis courts at Victoria Park in Malvern Link have received new lines thanks to a high-tech company based at nearby Spring Lane.
Fleet Line Markers used its BeamRider line-marking machine to complete the task in a matter of hours, enabling keen tennis fans to enjoy the courts just in time for Wimbledon.
Iain Courage, the firm's international sales manager, said: “When Charles Porter, operations manager for Malvern Town Council, approached Fleet Line Markers to ask if we would be willing to support a community project, we were more than happy to help.
“As manufacturers and suppliers of the world’s only automated laser-guided line marking system, the BeamRider, it was a foregone conclusion that this was the machine to use to give our community the best possible result.”
Mayor Cynthia Palmer said it was a significant contribution to the Malvern community, and that she was grateful that a local business was supporting a well-used community resource.
Fleet Line Markers was founded in 1953 by Peter McGuffie, and over the past 64 years has established a solid reputation as a pioneer in the line-marking sector.
