A UNIVERSITY of Wolverhampton graduate has raced ahead of the competition to secure a job with Malvern's Morgan Motor Company.

After graduating with a first-class mechanical engineering degree, Will Blackburn, aged 24, year-old is putting the skills to good use as a design engineer with the firm.

Mr Blackburn, from Wolverhampton, says he uses the knowledge and experience he gained working on the university's motor-racing team on a daily basis in his role at Morgan.

He said: “Working for Morgan is an absolute privilege and I’m grateful to be part of the team, where every day brings new and exciting challenges to the table.

“Being part of the team for the last three years has helped me gain experience in the motorsport industry and the necessary hands on skills to back my BEng in Mechanical engineering. This experience is now being used on a daily basis at Morgan."

Deputy vice-chancellor, professor Ian Oakes, said: “We are delighted that Will has been able to secure such an exciting role with Morgan.

"Through our partnership with the company, our students work alongside the Morgan craftsmen and women to gain hugely valuable work experience of the motor manufacturing industry."
