MALVERN Special Families has been given over £4,000, thanks to a local Co-Op supermarket.
The charity was chosen by customers at the supermarket's branch in Worcester Road, Malvern Link, to be one of the beneficiaries of its membership card scheme.
And now the Co-Op has handed over a cheque for £4,263 to Malvern Special Families, which provides clubs and play schemes for children and young people with disabilities.
Cassie Zoro, the charity's community fundraiser, said: “We are delighted that the scheme has raised £4,263 for Malvern Special Families.
"We are so grateful to all the Co-Op members who have chosen to fundraise for Malvern Special Families in this way. Community fundraising forms a vital part of our small charity’s income and new schemes like this are a brilliant way to help support local charities.
"This is such an incredible amount of money which will make a huge difference to the lives of local families whose children and young people attend our clubs, so thank you to all of the Co-Op members, customers and staff for making this happen.”
