TINY knitted angels will be appearing in Malvern during the run-up to Christmas, thanks to a band of volunteers.

A group of people from various churches, as well as the Malvern Yarn Bombers, has been meeting every Friday afternoon at Lansdowne Crescent Methodist Church, to knit and crochet hundreds of small angels.

They will be finished off with labels and blessed at the Carol Services in the churches, before being placed around the town early one morning just before Christmas.

Cynthia Merriman of the Methodist church said: "During the week before Christmas, you may find that a host of angels has come to bless Malvern, as well as coming to other towns in Britain. The angels will each bring a Christmas message of love with them.

"If you see one please take it home or give it to a friend or neighbour as a simple gift of love to bring joy to the world this Christmas.

"If you would like to find out more about knitting the angels, come along to the knitting group from 2pm to 4pm at the church."
