THE Malvern branch of TSB has chosen the Worcestershire Association of Carers as its new local charity partner in Malvern,. and to kick off the relationship, the bank has handed over a cheque for £100.

Lucy Bailey, manager of the branch in Church Street, said: “The Worcestershire Association of Carers is a cause that’s close to our hearts in Malvern and we are delighted to welcome them as our new local charity partner."

TSB is supporting nearly 500 local causes across Britain, chosen from over 25,000 nominations from customers, members of the general public and partners who work for the bank.

Carole Cumino, the charity's chief executive, said: “We are so thrilled to be chosen, thrilled to receive this donation and grateful to the carers who voted for us.

"The 2011 census states there are 63,000 carers in Worcestershire, with 9,309 to be found in the Malvern Hills area. Support from the TSB to raise vital funds and awareness will be amazing. especially as 2017 marks 20 years of WAC.”
