A COMEDIAN and writer visited Malvern St James Girls’ School to entertain pupils with tales from his new book.

David O’Doherty spoke to pupils from years 4, 5 and 6 at schools including Malvern St James, Malvern Parish CE Primary School, Malvern Wells CE Primary School and Pitmaston Primary School.

He told the youngsters about the character in his book Danger Really is Everywhere: School of Danger as he went about his mission to find out whether any staff at the school he works at were vampires or robots.

Hope Medcroft, aged 11, and a Malvern St James pupil said: "David was so funny and made everyone laugh.

"I really want to read one of his books. He made the book come to life."

Mr O'Doherty said: "I was really struck by the enthusiasm of the staff from the library and school, plus they weren’t vampires. Also I didn’t meet any ghosts. Woo hoo!"

The comedian is a regular guest on television shows such as QI, Have I Got News for You and Would I Lie to You?
