BUSINESS owners in Great Malvern, Malvern Link and Barnards Green are being urged to join in the Great Malvern Floral Festival, the window display competition run in alliance with the spring festival at the Three Counties Showground.

Now in its seventh year, the competition will this year be Celebrating 30 Great Years of the Royal Horticultural Society Malvern Spring Festival.

Eadwine Brown of Malvern Town Council said: "With over 60,000 people expected to visit the RHS Spring Festival, there’s plenty of footfall, and the floral festival is a fantastic way of taking advantage of all the extra visitors.

"With the annual well-dressing displays going up around the same time, and the rumour that Malvern’s inventive Yarnbombers might be getting involved, the town will be packed with colour and exciting displays.

"Previous entries have wowed the RHS judges with their imaginative and creative use of natural materials, and their reinvention of traditional floristry, and as the competition is judged to RHS standards, we are expecting some really fantastic entries once again."

The displays will be judged during the morning of Thursday, May 7, and the prizes will be awarded in a ceremony on Belle Vue Island at 2pm that day.

To enter, contact Mr Brown on 01684 566667 or ebrown@malvern-tc.org.uk. Entries must be received by 5pm on Thursday, April 23.
