SOME 300 people turned up to enjoy an eclectic mix of music on Sunday when the Cube held its first Shuffle community festival.
Warm weather ensured a good turnout as people lounged outside the centre in Albert Road North, and
Providing the music were leading local artists including Sam Eden, the Ray Mytton Band, Ruben Seabright and Tyler Massey, and between the live acts, the DJ crew from Malvern-based vinyl specialists Carnival Records provided further funky sounds.
Children enjoyed face-painting and an inflatable slide, and there was a range of craft stalls for browsing and buying.
And keeping everyone fed was the on-site cafe, the Cake Tin, which provided delicious fare ranging from soups and a tomato, pepper and bean hotpot, to cupcakes, flapjacks and more.
Christian Finn of the Cube said: "We would like to say a huge thank-you to all the people that contributed: the Cake Tin, Friday Beer, all the stall holders, all the musical performers and the Cube team.
"A raffle was held with some great prizes donated by local businesses, plus we also took donations on the day, which will all go towards putting on more community events."
The Cube is hosting an eclectic mix of entertainment during the coming months, starting tonight (Friday) with the monthly Carnival Records music quiz, and including gigs by Loyd Grossman and Babajack, and Vo Fletcher and Ric Sanders, plus a poetry slam, theatre and cabaret.
