THE founder of a charity which provides assistance dogs to disabled military personnel is coming to Malvern to talk about his work.

Hounds for Heroes founder Allen Parton is coming to town on Tuesday, October 14, with his own assistance dog EJ, at the invitation of White House Vets in Newtown Road.

Staff at the practice have been busy raising funds for the cause in recent months, with founder Richard Chamings walking 110 miles in five days across Dartmoor and Exmoor in March.

The following month, Karen Honeywood and Denise Jackson ran a half-marathon, and in June, the practice held its popular doggy fun day on Malvern Link Common in June, raising more than £4,000.

Mr Chamings said: "We're privileged to have Allen come to Malvern to talk to us, as he is a great inspirational speaker.

"The venue is The Swan inn at Newland, courtesy of Duncan Ironmonger, the time is 3pm, and anyone is welcome. There will be some light refreshments, and, of course, a collection for Hounds for Heroes."
