A FERRARI F40, an E-Type Jag and a vintage fire engine were just some of the classic vehicles on display at Castlemorton Primary School this week.

Year two pupils have been studying the topic of inventions this term.

One of the inventions they have looked at is the car, and the children asked their teacher Scott Tranmer if they could organise their own classic car show.

“The children have done absolutely everything themselves, from doing the risk assessments to writing shopping lists and sending out all the invitations,” Mr Tranmer explained. “They really have done a fabulous job. The playground was packed full of classic cars, tractors and motorbikes and it was a great event.”

A raffle for a family ticket to a race day was also held at the event, with proceeds going to local charity Funny Blood, which helps people with blood disorders.

As part of their work on cars the children have also visited the Morgan Motor Factory.

“Everyone there was very welcoming and the children had a superb day,” said Mr Tranmer.
