A trip to see Bryn Terfel in Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg will be one of the highlights of Malvern Opera Society’s 2009-10 programme.
Although the performance by the bass-baritone opera superstar does not take place until next July the MOS has only just managed to secure a group booking at the Hippodrome in Birmingham as seats are selling fast and some venues are already sold out.
Opera lovers who would like to see Terfel should contact the MOS as soon as possible if they would like to join the trip. The MOS tickets include an optional supper and a coach to and from the Hippodrome from Malvern Link.
Other events on the society’s prgramme include five Handel opera’s at the malvern Festival Theatre, Puccini’s Turandot in a simultaneous broadcast from the Metropolitan Opera House in New York, Mozart’s The Abduction from the Seraglio performed by Welsh National Opera at their home-base in Cardiff, a Benjamin Brittain opera performed in Cheltenham by English Touring Opera and Welsh National Opera’s Carmen.
Full details of the MOS programme can be found on the society’s website at www.malvernoperasociety.org.uk.
