Ultimate sacrifice will be remembered

THE ultimate sacrifice of British servicemen and women will be remembered at wreath-laying ceremonies, parades and church services in towns and villages throughout the area next weekend.

The Remembrance Sunday events and the thousands of poppies being sold and worn are for the heroes of not just the two world wars but also for the many British soldiers who have died in more recent conflicts, including Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Each year local branches of the Royal British Legion organise commemorative ceremonies in conjunction with churches and councils and we have tried to include the details of as many of these events as we can.

Malvern: The Malvern Branch of the Royal British Legion is organising a traditional Remembrance Day Parade and Service on Sunday, November 9.
