THE 10th annual walk over the Malvern Hills to raise money for Cancer Research UK will take place on Saturday, October 18.
The event is a popular part of the fundraising calendar and has raised more than £52,000 since its inception in 1998.
Routes of three, five and nine miles means there is the opportunity for everyone to take part in the walk which begins at Castlemorton Common.
Chairman of the local Cancer Research fundraising committee, Ray Worth, said: “The setting of all the walks is fantastic, and it’s the beauty of the Malvern Hills that attracts people to join us year after year.”
This year nurses from Worcestershire Royal Hospital are among the fundraisers donning walking boots and taking to the hills.
Alison Davis, a sister at the outpatients unit, said: ‘We all work together but we never seem to have time to spend time together socially so we have all decided to do this walk, and it will be great fun and we will benefit a cause that is close to everyone heart as well.
“Working in a hospital environment we are always aware of the impact cancer can have on families and many of us have personal reasons for supporting Cancer Research UK as they have someone close to them who has been affected.”
