Society launches new website

MALVERN Civic Society has this week launched its new website at www.malverncivicsociety.org.uk.

The society hopes the site, designed by Kevin Brewer of Cradley, will provide information for the general public who may be interested in supporting Malvern and who may want to join, giving them an insight into the activities of the society.

The site is also intended as as an aide-memoire for existing members, keeping them informed about the Society’s meetings, outings and latest news.

The site's news section aims to reflect the latest issues and the society's acftivities. Currently this section welcomes the introduction of the new restaurant ASK, the refurbishment of the Fig Tree Restaurant and the development of small specialist shops in the centre of Malvern, including the recent moves of the Iapetus Gallery and the Little Me children’s boutique in Church Street. There are further news stories highlighting other developments in Malvern.

The old address at www.malverncivicsociety.co.uk will still be available for the next twelve months.

Malvern Civic Society has 364 members and is one of the fastest growing civic societies in the country. It aims to conserve and protect the best elements of Malvern’s heritage in the built and natural environment while seeking to encourage and promote high standards of planning and architectural design for the enhancement, general improvement and appearance of Great Malvern and the surrounding area.

Throughout 2008/9, the society is celebrating 50 years of support for the Malvern area.
