TWENTY-three new allotments could be created on Greenfields Road in Malvern.
Malvern Town Council is applying for planning permission to create the allotments on an area of public open space following a consultation with local residents earlier this year. The allotments at the end of Greenfield Road would cost around £20,000 and part of the open grassed area would be retained.
The town council currently has a waiting list of 74 people waiting for allotments, a figure that has increased by more than 30 per cent since April last year.
The town council is applying for planning permission to change the use of the land, which is currently designated as public open space.
