Adventurous Felicity now in Estonia

CRADLEY adventurer Felicity Copp is this week riding her motorbike through the Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania as part of a cross-Europe challenge.

Felicity is one of a group of three friends who are taking part in the Enduro Europe 2008 challenge, to raise money for UNICEF, the RNLI and Help The Aged - the others are Mike Finlay of Worcester and Sarah Lombay of Evesham.

They started out from Stonehenge on July 31, and aim to return there by the start of September, having covered more than 7,500 miles through 26 countries.

They have already travelled through Norway, Sweden and Finland and aim to continue south through Poland and other eastern European nations, before heading west towards Spain.

The trip has not been without its problems; on Saturday, the electrical system of Felicity's bike started to go wrong, stranding the trio in Parnu, Estonia, while they found a place to fix it.

"The mechanic was great," said Felicity, "and the shop was able to order virtually any parts we wanted from Finland to be delivered within 1-2 days.

"So while we were with a mechanic who had a great sense of humour and spoke brilliant English despite saying he only spoke 'a little', Mike and Sarah have had their oil changed which they were hoping to do at about this stage of the trip anyway and we have ordered some spares to last us the rest of the journey (new brake pads, chains etc) so hopefully we now have consumables covered, fingers crossed!"
