WHILE holidaying in your area I had an unexpected visit and stay in Worcestershire Royal Hospital and would like to express my thanks to all the units that dealt with me over the two days.
The A&E unit, ENT staff and staff on Avon Ward 1. I was treated immediately, with courtesy, care and consideration by all your staff.
They all gave time to talk, listen and expressed empathy and understanding for my situation – a birthday treat which had taken an unusual turn, well away from my home in Yorkshire.
I noticed your mission statement on display on the wards and do feel all your staff, at all the levels, from cleaners to the ENT consultant Mr Porter, all “walked the walk” as well as “talking the talk”. Not just rhetoric but practised in reality.
I was sorry to see the headlines in the local press on February 3 the day I was admitted.
Ms Stimson’s experiences were not mine, the hospital care was wonderful and that was over a busy, cold weekend when there were many demands on the staff.
