I WAS somewhat surprised to read your headline, ‘Nowhere here I want to shop’ and particularly disappointed to read it came form a town councillor who we have elected to represent our town.

I think she should be ashamed of her attitude to what is a vibrant town.

I have lived here for about nine years and barely shop elsewhere, and then usually because I want a change rather than because I can’t get something in Ledbury.

I accept there are some areas of retail that are not well covered but you can easily get the basics for everyday shopping between the small shops and the supermarkets, plus buy clothes, books, music, gifts and household goods when needed.

I am not wealthy but equally I feel it is important to support local business, plus I enjoy meeting people I know as I shop.

Maybe if this councillor did shop more in Ledbury she would meet the people that elected her and get their view,.
