AFTER many weeks of reading the moaning, wingeing and whining comments emanating from your letter page, I feel I should break with your reader’s tradition and write something complimentary about Malvern and the people therein.
On Bank Holiday Monday a friend and I spent a most enjoyable afternoon/evening at the West Fest at the West Malvern playing field and cannot compliment the organisers highly enough!
It was great to see so many people having fun, listening to some of the best local (and not so local!) bands you could ever wish to hear! Pewke Band, Carol Lee Sampson, Funky Junky Monkeys, Paul and Ray, Vo Fletcher and the rest, hold your heads up one and all, you did a brilliant job as did Paul White and colleagues operating the sound system.
This was a charity event and it was heartening to see so many bands and individuals giving their time for free. The organisation of the event was first class and cannot be faulted and anyone who has the nerve to complain about noise etc should get off their backsides next year and volunteer to help as I will be doing, if they will have me!
Once again, many, many thanks to all involved, keep up the good work and I will see you all again next year.
ANDY WALKER (Fonz to some), Cedar Avenue, Malvern.
