MALVERN Fairtrade Group held a very well attended fair in the Littleton Rooms last Saturday.
The fair, which was opened by Councillor Susan Gill, Chairman of Malvern Hills District Council, gave people the opportunity to buy Christmas gifts which have been fairly traded. All the stall holders were local including Zinnia selling goods from Egypt; Ugandan paper necklaces; Zulu made beadwork from South Africa; Silkthread with items from Vietnam; jambo-jambo with goods from Kenya; Oxfam, Greenlink, Aquarius and Traidcraft.
The fair was a show case for the strong commitment to Fairtrade shown in the Malvern Hills area, as we see an increasing number of shops, restaurants and cafes offering Fairtrade goods, giving producers a better deal.
Malvern Fairtrade Group would like to thank all those who took part in the fair, as well as Malvern Town Council and Malvern HIlls District Council for their continued support.
