YOUR excellent report last week concerning the motoring misery has become even worse by the addition of lengthy roadworks which have almost totally barred car parking anywhere near the Upper Welland Stores. Do these utility companies have to get planning permission and if they do perhaps the people who authorised these works to begin immediately adjacent to a village shop hoping for and now failing to get extra revenue from Christmas shoppers, would explain how he or she arrived at this extraordinary decision.

Then there is Tunnel Hill at Upton and doubtless many others. All of them will doubtless fully contribute to the rough and bumpy surface of our roads.
