UNFORTUNATELY, the planning application for four industrial broiler units producing 200,000 chickens every eight weeks is about to be re-submitted to Herefordshire Council (P143028F).
The proposed units at Chances Pitch, Colwall, will be in the direct line of sight from British Camp – a major point of objection from English Heritage and Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) last time.
The potential impact on a major tourist attraction for the area should not be under-estimated.
Colwall Action Group will be spearheading the campaign to stop this.
The recent refusal for a similar application at Dorstone (on visual impact grounds) and the national interest this generated should help us in our campaign.
